Decompositions of multigraphs into parts with the same size

چکیده
Given a family F of multigraphs without isolated vertices, a multigraph M is called F-decomposable if M is an edge disjoint union of multigraphs each of which is isomorphic to a member of F . We present necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of such decompositions if F consists of all multigraphs of size q except for one. Namely, for a multigraph H of size q we find each multigraph M of size kq, such that every partition of the edge set of M into parts of cardinality q contains a part which induces a submultigraph of M isomorphic to H .

Decompositions of multigraphs into parts with two edges
Given a family F of multigraphs without isolated vertices, a multigraph M is called F-decomposable if M is an edge disjoint union of multigraphs each of which is isomorphic to a member of F . We present necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of such decompositions if F comprises two multigraphs from the set consisting of a 2-cycle, a 2-matching and a path with two edges.
متن کاملThe complete multigraphs and their decompositions into open trails
Balister [Combin. Probab. Comput. 12 (2003), 1–15] gave a necessary and sufficient condition for a complete multigraph Kn to be arbitrarily decomposable into closed trails of prescribed lengths. In this article we solve the corresponding problem showing that the multigraphs Kn are arbitrarily decomposable into open trails.
متن کاملDecompositions Of λKv Into Multigraphs With Four Vertices And Five Edges
This paper is motivated by a survey on the existence of G-designs by Adams, Bryant and Buchanan, where they gave the spectrum of the decomposition of complete graphs into graphs with small numbers of vertices. We give difference family-type constructions to decompose λ copies, where λ ≥ 2, of the complete graph K v into several multigraphs on four vertices and five edges including so called " 2...
متن کاملAddendum to: "Infinite-dimensional versions of the primary, cyclic and Jordan decompositions", by M. Radjabalipour
In his paper mentioned in the title, which appears in the same issue of this journal, Mehdi Radjabalipour derives the cyclic decomposition of an algebraic linear transformation. A more general structure theory for linear transformations appears in Irving Kaplansky's lovely 1954 book on infinite abelian groups. We present a translation of Kaplansky's results for abelian groups into the terminolo...
متن کاملClassical quasi-primary submodules
In this paper we introduce the notion of classical quasi-primary submodules that generalizes the concept of classical primary submodules. Then, we investigate decomposition and minimal decomposition into classical quasi-primary submodules. In particular, existence and uniqueness of classical quasi-primary decompositions in finitely generated modules over Noetherian rings are proved. More...
